Being “Coachable” Is The Best Tax Move
For today, let's talk about something intangible and I promise we'll bring it back around to taxes and accounting.
Years ago on the show America's Best Dance Crew, one of the judges Lil Mama explained why she doesn't like working with some dancers, the ones who don't do the choreography and complain "Well, I don't like turning right, I want to turn left" and she's like "shut up and just do the choreography!"
And I'm sure you've had that before with coworkers or family members or whatever as well.
One common thread we've noticed over the years with our clients is that most of them are coachable and thank heavens for that haha. Right, if we make a suggestion, most of the time they listen to us whether that's switching to a better bank, doing the simplified home office write off, etc etc. and we're very happy and grateful for that.
Right, if you want to lower your taxes, it's going to require work on your end as well. If you want your accounting solid and capturing all your deductions, then you'll get questions and requests from your accountant.
And one thing I always try to keep in mind when I'm the client, I always try and remember there's a difference between asking questions to learn/find out vs asking questions and then not liking the answer and arguing. Not saying I follow it every time, but I try :)
So in terms of taxes and accounting, one major thing as a client you can do is be coachable. And thankfully our current roster is filled with that and of course we're always open to more :)
Thanks for reading and here's a quick video of JT explaining being coaching and about organization with regards to your business bank accounts. Enjoy and we'll talk soon, https://www.instagram.com/p/C4Mb_ssMHyr/
