Why It’s Better To File Your Tax Returns Early
Happy Saturday. Will you help me with something? Okay cool, all you gotta do is read this as I'm taking a quick break from some tax work right now.
You know what's interesting? The clients who get their stuff to us early almost always end up saving more on taxes. Not because of any special early-bird discount, but because we actually have time to plan and strategize. (Amazing how that works, right?)
Just this week, JT was reviewing a client's S-Corp and spotted a discrepancy. Let's just say we knew this client had a company credit card, but their bookkeeper didn't have it on the balance sheet. Yikes.
Thankfully we got it figured it because we work with this client throughout the year. And they have a bookkeeper already so we just focus on tax stuff which is why JT's spidey senses perked up when reviewing her returns.
Score one for the client and one for us as well :)
We take on about 200 returns each year, and we're pretty much booked up. If you've got:
- An S-Corp or partnership
- Rental properties
- 1099 or consulting income
- Or just want someone to look at your whole tax picture
...now's the perfect time to get your returns on our schedule. You will be going on extension and it's better to get started now.
